The Shamrock Family

We are a community of dog lovers. We are a family of pet owners. We are people with similar interests. At Shamrock Dog Park, it is all about us. We strive to bring pets together in a comfortable atmosphere, where they can feel free to roam around without a leash. Owners will not have to worry about neighbors who get nervous when dogs are not on leashes and wildlife critters will not have to worry about having dogs on the loose. Only well-behaved dogs and their owners are allowed in Shamrock Dog Park so you never have to worry about your dog or your family getting hurt or scared. We are a community, a dog-loving community. Who and Where

Who are our leaders? Our current board members include: Kim Hitze and Niel Hitze (Co-Presidents) and Monica Alcorn (Vice President). The current voting board members are Merrick Steinmetz, Laura Bartrom, and LeAnne Williams. 

Shamrock Dog Park is located on the property of the City of Lafayette, and Lafayette Parks provides maintenance, security, turf management, mowing, trash removal, etc.

The Dog Park Association of Greater Lafayette provides membership and day pass oversight, fundraising, and lock programming and maintenance. 

Lafayette Parks and Recreation determines when Shamrock Dog Park will be closed and when it will reopen. The information will be passed down to the Director of Operations, who will then make sure that you and your dog know whether Shamrock Dog Park will be open by posting the information on our website. We encourage you to check the website for weather information before heading out to the park.
